Rangitahi Beach House
Nestled in the new Raglan Rangitahi subdivision overlooking the estuary to hills and native bush is a cleverly designed macrocarpa and lichen green cladded beach retreat.
Designed by Architect Francesca Peacocke and Rmi Interiors and built by Sentinel Homes and Weston Builders it has been cleverly crafted in its small footprint of 132m2.
With bright pops of colour throughout it has a real 70’s feel to it. I tried to recreate a beach retreat that reminds me of beach houses we used to visit all over Nz as kids (It’s definitely a bit out of the box)
With its fully lined strand board walls, wall lights, and bright blue kitchen with tiled benchtops there is a surprise around every corner. Concrete floors for their durability and strength as this is used for short-term accommodation so it needed to stand the test of time and wool carpet for its sustainability factors the rooms still feel lovely and warm with views from most windows. It discreetly sits up on the hill and blends in with its surroundings.
